This is how you can download and install the latest WhatsApp on Huawei phones without the Google Play Store.

WhatsApp is a popular messaging app that is used by millions of people worldwide. However, if you own a Huawei phone without Google Play Store / Play Services, installing WhatsApp can be a bit challenging. But don’t worry, we have got you covered! In this article, we will guide you through the steps on how to install WhatsApp on Huawei without Google Play Store. This works with all the latest Huawei phones like the Huawei P series, Huawei Mate series, Nova and Y series as well.

Despite the lack of Google Play Services, Huawei runs Android (EMUI 12) which means the core functionality is just as the same as any other Android device. Similar to other Android phones, Huawei Android devices can also install an Android APK manually. Given this ability, we will use it to get the latest and also official WhatsApp running on your phone.

Fortunately, Facebook / Meta (parent brand of WhatsApp) provides two routes of installing the app. One, where you get it from Google Play Store and the other is to get the APK manually from the official site. Since, the first one isn’t possible in this scenario, we will explain how to install WhatsApp via the official website.

To make it easier for our readers, we have not only broken down the complete procedure into simple steps but have also added direct links.

Download WhatsApp on Huawei without Play Store

Step 1 – Go to official WhatsApp download page: (preferably on the Huawei phone you want to install WhatsApp on)

Step 2 – Now, click on the “Package installer” link.

Step 3 – Wait for the APK to finish downloading, after which, tap on the APK.

Step 4 – If this is your first time installing, your phone would ask permissions to install, allow them all.

Step 5 – Click on Install button at the bottom.

Step 6 – The phone will now proceed to install. After it is done, there will be an option displayed at the bottom of opening the app, tap it to launch WhatsApp.

Done! That’s all to it! Your Huawei phone should now be running latest WhatsApp.

Set it up just as you would after installing it from the Play Store. You can now use WhatsApp to send and receive messages, make calls, and share media with your friends and family.

How to Update WhatsApp on Huawei Phones

Where Google Play Store provides app listings on Android devices, it also doubles up as an update service tool that lets developers push latest app builds to users. Since we have manually installed the WhatsApp APK, the app would not be able to auto-update.

To get the latest version running on your phone, you would have to follow the above process again. This time, once you install WhatsApp over your existing installation, it would not delete existing data and would act just as an update install.

Tips to Get WhatsApp on Huawei Phones

  • Make sure to download WhatsApp from the official website to avoid downloading malware or viruses.

  1. I tried these all but there is very complex procedure to transfer data from Google drive to nova 7i. I move data manually and succeed also but the problem I faced is that my all contact name are not displaying only the numbers are displaying so I can not recognise them easyly and also my contact list does not add WhatsApp icon with it please solve the problem or gide me the procedure to do it.

    Thanks and regards

    • From what you are saying, I think all the contacts on your previous phone were stored in Google Contacts. This is why WhatsApp isn’t able to find the numbers/contact name details.

      • Suddenly my WhatsApp log off’s itself and when trying to login back it shows need to use official WhatsApp to continue… This I guess it’s happening on all Huawei users
