This toggle has been seen effecting other apps as well such as Play Store which is a big plus as this feature is otherwise only for Android 10.

Step 1 – Open up the Settings app.

Step 2 – Find the Display option and then tap on it.

Step 3 – From the next menu, you should see the Dark Mode toggle. Tap it to activate.

That’s all to it! You should now see a more darkened UI. Where there were previously white backgrounds, they should now all turn to black / gray.

Definitely a great option to have built-in! Darker UI yields less strain to your eyes and also has shown to improve battery life as well.
