Huawei, this month, launched a new member within the Y series, the new Huawei Y9s. Fortunately, we have received our unit and here we will be sharing the complete unboxing experience as well as our first thoughts about the phone. The brand enjoyed great success with Y9 Prime 2019, following that, it has decided to launch a new, more improved and refined phone. Being priced just marginally higher than Y9 Prime 2019, Huawei’s Y9s is looking to be a great option for budget to mid-range phone buyers.
The latest Y9s comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of standard storage and a large 6.59 inch display. Key aspects for this phone include the minimal bezel display that’s notch-free thanks to the pop-up camera. Further, the phone comes with 48MP rear main camera sensor — an improvement over Y9 Prime 2019’s 16MP module. Also, possibly a first for a Huawei phone, the fingerprint sensor has been moved underneath the power button. Huawei Y9s Unboxing Experience
Huawei’s Y9s follows the same, standard packaging as Huawei’s other phones. The box carries a complete render of the phone’s display at the top. The back and other sides are mostly empty except that the bottom carries information such as storage, RAM capacities along with which color the phone is.
The top half, is easily removed to reveal Huawei Y9s itself. Removing the plastic protective covers from the phone, we immediately notice that the back chassis is made of glass. Further, the seamless back with just the camera bump is something we have rarely seen from recent Huawei phones. Our unit is painted in Midnight Black but users can also opt for a brighter Breathing Crystal color option.

As for the rest of the box, it comes with standard accessories that include a SIM eject tool, a clear silicon case, 10W USB Charger, USB Type-C cable and lastly 3.5mm headphones with microphone. It is important to mention here, there is a clear screen protector applied to the phone straight out of the box.
