For Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro owners, here is a complete guide explaining how to officially unlock bootloader of the phone. Thanks to this prompt support from Xiaomi, developers have already started coming up with mods and utilities for the phones. Further, if you want to manually flash system updates such as MIUI 11 and others, you also require to unlock bootloader first.
Ability to install Custom ROMs, root, custom recoveries and even ability to manually flash system updates are some of the popular use-cases once bootloader has been unlocked. As Redmi Note 8 is a budget focused device these third-party mods are always useful to increase the functionality of the phone and also, in some cases, performance. The procedure ahead has been explained in detail along with screenshots.
