How to Unlock Bootloader on Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro
We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to unlock bootloader on Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro. The process has been revamped recently as you no longer have to fill out application form rather it is all automated.
Please read every line carefully and make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your Android device.
- This unlocking bootloader tutorial is only for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro. Please don’t try this on any other variants.
- This tutorial has been performed on Windows, but anyone familiar with Fastboot on Mac or Linux can perform this as well.
- Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding as it will erase all data.
- You will void your warranty by unlocking the bootloader.
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro
- USB cable
Step 1 – Login with your Mi account and head on to http://en.miui.com/unlock in order to have unlock permissions for your account. Make sure you have an account that has mobile number verification.
Step 2 – Once you have logged in, click on Unlock button on the webpage and then proceed to tap on Download Mi Unlock from the resulting page.
Step 3 – On your Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro, enable developer options by going to Settings > About Phone and then tap on MIUI version continously until You’re now a developer popup appears.
Step 4 – From the main Settings menu, now tap on Additional Settings > Developer Options. Browse down till you see Mi Unlock Status and then sign-in with the same account you used to download Unlock tool in Step 2.
Step 5 – Within Developer Options, also enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging.
Step 6 – Now, proceed to put your Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro into Fastboot mode by first powering it off and then, powering it on while holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously. Hold until you see your phone is booted into Fastboot mode.
