HTC, despite being absent from phone releases, hasn’t forgotten about Android Pie. Earlier this month, HTC announced Android Pie for HTC U11 / U11+ / U12+ soon but, surprisingly, HTC U11 has already started receiving Android Pie in Taiwan. Other variants, are expected to get Android Pie within June. HTC is working hard to beat its competitors by shifting its focus towards introducing different technologies like 5G and enabling their smartphones for block-chain transactions.
HTC U11 users in Taiwan are receiving a new firmware update according to a couple of posts on Twitter. After updating HTC U11, the Sense UI build number will update to 3.22.709.2 which comes packed with improvements, Android 9.0 Pie update, system enhancements, and removing Google+ from BlinkFeed as Google has shut down Google+. Some users on Twitter are saying the Android Pie update contains a bunch of bugs and if you’re experiencing any, kindly comment below. As for the UI, there are no upgrades included within the update.
HTC U11 Receives Android Pie
New firmware for HTC U11 brings improvements and features within the update. This major upgrade wasn’t expected this early but for users in Taiwan, it has! The new build requires an active internet connection and 1.36 GB storage as there are major changes coming according to the change-log. As mentioned above, this update is currently being pushed in Taiwan. Using the built-in OTA(Over-the-air) update system, users can directly download and install the new firmware once the notification pops up. And if the notification hasn’t arrived, navigate to Settings and tap Software Update to download and install the update manually.
