After a long wait, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are now officially updated to OxygenOS 9.0.2 which brings Android Pie. It has been a long time coming since OnePlus first promised that Android Pie will reach its older OnePlus 3 series phones. Being couple of years old, users were quite happy that their device would get the latest Android revision. However, delays in update roll-out made the experience slightly bittersweet. Nonetheless, OxygenOS 9.0.2 update is finally here and you can install immediately with this guide.
Android Pie upgrade is a major system jump for OnePlus 3 series phones. Previously, the devices were running dated Android Oreo within the stable channel. New firmware brings in loads of new features, changes and enhancements. Also, the naming scheme for OxygenOS has been simplified as it now directly corresponds to the Android version it is based on. On top of code-base update, there are proprietary features added on as well by OnePlus, all of which you can read in the detailed change-log ahead.
