How to Take Screenshots on Huawei P30 / P30 Pro

There are three unique methods that you can follow in order to take a screenshot on Huawei P30 series smartphone. You can take screenshots by:

  • Hardware buttons
  • Notification Center button
  • Three Finger Swipe gesture (P30 Lite) or Knuckle Screenshot (P30 and P30 Pro)

All of these methods can be enabled at the same time so that whatever the situation may be, you can choose the most convenient option.

1. How To Take Screenshots Using Hardware Buttons:

This one is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to take screenshots on your Huawei P30 / P30 Pro smartphone. Just follow these quick steps to take one right now:

Step 1 – Open the application/screen which you want to take a screenshot of.

Step 2 – Now press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together.

Step 3 – You will see a quick animation and hear a feedback sound that shows that a screenshot was just taken.

Easy, eh? Next, we have the cool palm swipe gesture that is even faster to quickly take a screenshot on your phone.

2. How To Take Screenshots Using Notification Center Pull Down:

This method makes it quite easy to grab what’s being displayed on the screen. The complete details for taking screenshots through the notification center is as follows:

Step 1 – Open the application/screen which you want to take a screenshot of.

Step 2 – Access the notification center by swiping down from the status bar on your Huawei P30 / P30 Pro smartphone. You might have to swipe down twice to see the Screenshot button.

Step 3 – Just tap on the Screenshot button and the phone will automatically close the notification pull-down and grab what’s being displayed.

How to take screenshots on Huawei P20

Thanks to EMUI, there is gesture support build into the operating system. Once enabled, you can take all your screenshots through the following steps. These steps apply only to P30 Lite.

Step 1 – You need to activate the gesture itself before you can actually use it. In order to do so, go into the Settings app and select the Smart Assistance menu.

Step 2 – From the Smart Assistance menu, find out Motion Control and then select Three-fingerScreenshot capture and enable it.

Step 3 – Close the settings app, head to the screen which you want to capture.

Step 4 – Now to take a screenshot, just hold out three fingers packed closely and swipe downwards on the display. Ideally, you should start swiping down from the middle of the display.

3b. How to Capture Screenshot with Knuckle Tap:

This is a new method being introduced in EMUI 9.1. Users can now take screenshots using a tap of the knuckle. This seems to replace the three-finger gesture of old. To activate, follow the ahead steps.

Step 1 – You need to activate the gesture itself before you can actually use it. In order to do so, go into the Settings app and select the Smart Assistance menu.

Step 2 – From the Smart Assistance menu, find out Shortcuts & Gestures and then select Knuckle screenshot and enable it.

Step 3 – Close the settings app, head to the screen which you want to capture.

Step 4 – Now to take a screenshot, just tap with any knuckle on the screen.

How to Find Saved Screenshots?

You can easily find your saved screenshots through the stock Gallery app. Or manually, you can go to the Pictures > Screenshots folder in your phone memory and check all the screenshots you have taken so far.

To transfer screenshots and other media from Huawei P30 / P30 Pro smartphone to your computer, make sure you have the right apps to do that. You should have latest Huawei USB drivers so your phone is easily recognized by the computer.
