LG G8 ThinQ owners should cheer up as Verizon has started rolling out a new software update for the device. This new firmware, code G820UM10d, brings various changes to Air Motion, Hand ID and an updated April 2019 security patch. LG G8 gained popularity thanks to its unique hand wave gesture support which allowed users to communicate with the phone without actually making contact with it.
The latest update from Verizon carries changes to both Air Motion and Hand ID. There is now a complete tutorial in settings showing how to utilize Air Motion. More, the distance at which Air Motion is applicable has been reduced for better performance across apps.
Verizon LG G8 April 2019 Software Update – Changes:
As mentioned above, the update has certain new major features like Air Motion and Hand ID along with the new call blocking feature. These updates are all mentioned within the official change-log. Air Motion feature allows the users to do a certain amount of things through gestures like accepting/declining calls, launching apps, taking a selfie and much more. The Hand ID feature allows users to unlock their phone with a quick scan of their palm.
If users aren’t able to understand at all about the Air Motion system then there is a tutorial in the settings menu on how to use the feature. Through Air Motion settings it is possible to change the distance between the hand and the sensor and set it according to user’s need. Another new feature is the block caller option when a particular call ends. An option is displayed under the button “Add to contacts” to block the number.
The latest update is available through Over The Air update system starting from today, as update distributions take time and days so hang tight in there and the notification will arrive.
