Samsung has started distributing Android Pie firmware update carrying One UI to its entry level Galaxy J8 phone. As of now, the brand has released the Android Pie update only for Russian devices but hopefully, they will be releasing it soon to others too. You can check the update manually if it hasn’t turned up within your notification by navigating to settings and then to software update. If the update is available, download it and enjoy. For users who don’t see the firmware, it will arrive soon.
The update comes with Samsung’s One UI, the latest custom skin for Android which makes the user interface and experiences a lot better for users. Samsung Galaxy J8 is a budget phone with great performance and it received AR Emoji & dual VoLTE support within a software update last year.
Installation Guide: How to Install Android Pie on Samsung Galaxy J8
Samsung distributes its software updates in a very slow manner but checks that everyone gets the update specific to their handset. Samsung Galaxy J8 users will be receiving it today starting from Russia. Check out the official video for Samsung’s One UI.
Before rushing towards downloading the update, keep in mind that the update might expect few initial bugs such as excessive battery drain, hiding navigation bar, trouble using gestures, etc. These kinds of bugs are related to any Android version upgrade so hopefully, you might not be experiencing them and we hope it won’t stop you from downloading and installing the update too so go for it as these bugs will be debugged in future software releases.
