Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 phones bought with Telus have just received a new, revised Android Pie update timeline which has been mentioned ahead. Samsung, as other brands, launches multiple variants of each of its flagships. This is done to provide users residing in different regions the best compliance with their respective networks. However, this also causes delays in software updates as each different variant has to be separately accounted for in the development process. Despite Android Pie officially being out for international Galaxy S8 / Galaxy S8 Plus and Galaxy Note 8, Telus devices in Canada haven’t yet been upgraded. However, there is a new date on the horizon which users can look forward to.
Telus has confirmed that April 1st will be the date when Galaxy S8 series and Galaxy Note 8 would receive official Android Pie. It is important to mention that this date can be changed and revised even further depending upon the status of the build. We can only hope that Telus actually stays true to April 1st and does actually go through with releasing the final update on time.

Changes in Android 9.0 One UI Update
Once the upgrade arrives, there would be a number of new features. Also, this would be the second major upgrade for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 — after moving from Nougat to Oreo. Within the upcoming build, there would be a completely revamped Android skin which Samsung calls One UI. This experience would be focused on making larger phones usable with one hand. Further, underneath the hood, performance would improve as well as the battery endurance.
From now, at the time of writing, there is just a week left before Android 9.0 arrives and if it does, that would mean Canadian Telus owners would get upgraded to Android Pie before US customers.
