Making the rear sensor act as a touchpad, here is how OnePlus 5T users can enable fingerprint swipe gestures to use for navigation. In a clever mod released by developer Aswin08, older OnePlus 5T smartphone can have its rear-mounted fingerprint scanner accept swipe gestures. This makes navigating through the standard User Interface that much easier as now, with a single swipe, users can perform back function, visit recent apps menu and more. The modification only requires you to have your OnePlus 5T rooted through Magisk and have Magisk Manager installed. For a complete installation break-down, read ahead.
With the OnePlus 5T, OnePlus moved the fingerprint scanner towards the back for the first time. This allowed for less bezels upfront and a more convenient unlock procedure. However, there was some functionality which could’ve been added as stock such as swipe gestures. Fortunately, with this clever and easy mod, users can enable that manually. Continue below for the complete tutorial on enabling fingerprint swipe gestures.
The mod comes as a single ZIP package which can be loaded and installed through Magisk Manager. If you have installed Magisk Modules before, this should be very similar. However, for new users, a complete step-by-step guide has been added ahead.
