This is a complete instructional guide which shows how to update Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL by manually flashing November 2018 factory firmware. Google, as part of its continued emphasis on security, releases new builds each month which bring forward security improvements. Generally, on top of the security changes, these builds give the brand a chance to integrate bug-fixes and even sometimes integrate new features. However, for November 2018 firmware, the update doesn’t carry any major new feature, only improvements. It is always recommended to keep your device up to date and running the latest software. To update Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL with November 2018 firmware, continue reading ahead.
Just last month Google released new Pixel 3 which makes the Pixel 2 now a generation older. Nonetheless, Pixel smartphones are always first in line for software updates and Pixel 2, specifically, still has a long time of official support left. Now that the new November 2018 update is out, users should be able to update their devices using the built-in OTA (Over-the-air) update system. However, if you have a system mod installed such as a custom ROM, custom recovery or your region is different, our steps will come handy to install November 2018 firmware. Our procedure relies on downloading the complete official update and then flashing it through a PC. Before you actually implement any of the ahead mentioned steps, we recommend that you backup all your data because system updates might cause your phone to factory reset.
