Google Pixel 3: Features, Release Date, Availability

The much awaited Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have now been officially announced. Latest Pixel 3 lineup is more of a refinement rather than a revolutionary change when compared to Pixel 2, but quite a welcome one! Arguably, what users are most looking forward to are the new camera upgrades. We are happy to report that Google, with the new Pixel 3, are still committed to providing best-in-class smartphone camera capabilities and that too, with only one lens. The screen sizes for both Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have been increased from previous years whereas Pixel 3 XL has also received a large notch cut-out for its front display.

In terms of hardware, both phones come equipped with Snapdragon 845, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage as standard. The displays are now flexible OLED panels with FHD+ resolution for Pixel 3 and QHD+ resolution for Pixel 3 XL. Carrying from Pixel 2, there is Active Edge technology and USB Type-C support. Further, there is a new Titan security chip on-board and both phones run Android 9.0 Pie as standard. You can continue reading for detailed tech specs, release date and availability.

Google Pixel 3 New Features:

Seeing how Pixel 3 is an incremental upgrade, there aren’t many major but a lot of subtle changes throughout the phone. New features include a first-ever dual lens front camera setup on a Pixel smartphone which allows for wider and better selfies. As for the rear camera, it has received an upgrade as well with an improved sensor. Also, bezels have been cut down a lot from older generation hence allowing for larger displays in same size. Further, there is a new Titan security chip embedded into each device for better security. In terms of major hardware, the storage capacities remain unchanged but there is a new Snapdragon 845 CPU.

All in all, it is a welcome upgrade. The only thing we wish was Google offered higher storage capacities as 64GB is quite less in terms of latest flagship standards.
