Since public launch of Android Pie, Samsung users have been anxiously waiting for their devices to get updated. Seeing how heavily skinned Galaxy device firmwares are, it is no surprise that it is taking some time for the brand to release an official update. Regardless however, we have new leaked build with us which is supposedly being internally tested by Samsung. Currently, only Galaxy S9 (Snapdragon variant) smartphones can run this but we assume there is a similar firmware for Exynos models which hasn’t yet been leaked, unfortunately. Apart from all major features bundled by Google in Android Pie, this build also ships with Samsung’s upcoming Experience 10 skin. Despite being a test build, there are a lot of things that are new and working. For one, there is a built-in dark mode which is what users were asking for so long. How to Install Leaked Android 9.0 on Galaxy S9 / S9+
Ahead, we have a detailed step-by-step procedure through which you can update Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ to Android 9.0 Leaked build. The firmware is an official one signed by Samsung and we will utilize latest ODIN to flash it onto Galaxy S9 / S9+.
Please read every line carefully and make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing on your device.
- This tutorial is only for Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+. Please don’t try this on any other variants of the phone.
- Firmwares used in this post are official releases by Samsung for the Galaxy S9+.
- Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 – Download the following Android 8.1 Oreo update from the following links for your specific Galaxy S9 / S9+ model to your computer and extract the zip file. (This is required before you can actually install Android 9.0 Pie.)
Step 2 – Download Odin which will help you to install Leaked update on Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+.
Step 3 – Switch OFF your phone. Now go to Download Mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Down + Bixby buttons together, and then press the Power button till you see the construction Android robot and a triangle.
