All Motorola devices ship with a locked bootloader but thankfully, the brand supports unlocking, if the user desires so. A brief introduction to the bootloader would be that it is is a mode that allows a computer to interact with the phone’s system partition files which means, once unlocked, users can easily manipulate the built-in software. For security reasons, all devices are shipped locked. Fortunately enough, the procedure to unlock a Motorola phone is quite simple. Ahead, we will take you through the complete process of unlocking either your Moto G6, G6 Play or G6 Plus’s bootloader.
The most popular premise of unlocking bootloader of any Android device is to gain root which is right besides installing a custom recovery like TWRP. Both of these modifications are quite fundamental as they pave way for further mods such as root apps and custom ROMs. Further, unlocking the bootloader also allows you to install official firmwares manually straight through your computer. Now, before we take you through the complete procedure, do make sure you backup all your user data of your device as this procedure will factory reset your smartphone.
