Find ahead instructions on how to enable three-finger screenshot gesture on Huawei P20 Pro / P20 Lite. In an effort to make phone navigation that much easier, brands have resorted to full screen gestures. As taking screenshots is an often occurrence, Huawei decided to provide a smart gesture for this. The way it works is, you just swipe three fingers across the screen and the phone will automatically capture what is being displayed on the screen. As this is a system level implementation, all apps are supported. By default, this functionality is not enabled hence you would need to implement the procedure ahead to enable three-finger screenshot on Huawei P20 Pro / P20 Lite. Have you seen how gorgeous is the Huawei P20 Pro? If not, check out this unboxing video and our first impressions about the phone.
This gesture support is available on all EMUI 8 devices from Huawei. Also, taking a screenshot through this procedure is exactly similar to what you would get with the button toggle. Once you take the screenshot, the phone would also ask you whether you would like to make it a scrollshot — capture another screen after scrolling once and stitching both to make one long picture. Hopefully, with our guide ahead, you can enjoy three-finger screenshot on your Huawei P20.
As always, there is a list of procedures through which you can take a screenshot on the Huawei P20 Lite:
- Hardware buttons
- Notification Center button
- Three Finger Swipe gesture
We would target the three finger swipe gesture in this guide, if you want to learn about others you can read our dedicated guide on that.

How to Capture Screenshot with Three Finger Gesture:
As said before, this functionality is specific to EMUI 8 and above. If you don’t have the P20 Pro / P20 Lite but some other Huawei EMUI 8 device, chances are this guide will work.
Step 1 – You need to activate the gesture itself before you can actually use it. In order to do so, go into the Settings app and select the Smart Assistance menu.
Step 2 – From the Smart Assistance menu, find out Motion Control.
Step 3 – From the menu, tap on Three Finger Screenshot and enable the slider button.
Step 4 – Close the settings app, head to the screen which you want to capture.
Step 5 – Now to take a screenshot, just hold out three fingers packed closely and swipe downwards on the display. Ideally, you should start swiping down from the middle of the display.
How to Find Saved Screenshots?
You can easily find your saved screenshots through the stock Gallery app. Or manually, you can go to the Pictures > Screenshots folder in your phone memory and check all the screenshots you have taken so far.
To transfer screenshots and other media from Huawei P20 Lite smartphone to your computer, make sure you have the right apps to do that. You should have latest Huawei USB drivers so your phone is easily recognized by the computer.
Huawei HiSuite will allow you to transfer your content from your phone to Windows PC easily. Similarly, Android File Transfer can also get the job done if you are a Mac user.
