Huawei P20 Lite Drivers for Windows
To connect Huawei P20 Lite properly on a Windows PC, you should download Huawei HiSuite. This tool allows you to connect your Huawei phones to the computer, transfer files and even update the phone software. You can read all about this tool on its download page. USB drivers for Huawei P20 Lite will be bundled with this app and will be installed along with it.
You can also connect the Huawei P20 Lite directly to a Windows PC and wait till it is recognized by the PC and MTP drivers are automatically installed by Windows. However, the official drivers with HiSuite allows you to enjoy high-speed data transfer rates and the tool offers a lot more features than the native Windows method. If your phone is not easily recognized by the computer and nothing happens after connecting your phone, that is when you need to download Huawei HiSuite or install Huawei P20 Lite drivers manually. When connecting your P20 Lite phone with the computer, it is highly recommended to only use the USB-C cable that you got with the phone in the box.

Connecting Huawei P20 Lite’s internal storage is relatively easier on macOS / Mac OS X. If you have been a Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy or Nexus user on a Mac previously, then setting up the Huawei P20 Lite should be no different for you. Android File Transfer is a free utility by Google to connect your Android phones (and tablets) to transfer data between the phone and the computer. Android File Transfer misses out on a number of important features and feels very outdated, but it gets the job done and is compatible with almost every Android device out there.
There are known problems with Android File Transfer and the newly launched phones with Android Oreo. Google has yet to announce a major new update to Android File Transfer, but hasn’t done anything to improve this app in the last 5-6 years. To get around this, we discovered a fantastic new free alternative called as HandShaker. It works with macOS and Windows PC. We will talk about that in a bit below.
Make sure you have a Huawei P20 Lite / P20 Lite Pro / P20 Lite Lite and a USB-C cable (preferably, the one that came with the phone). Then follow these quick steps:
