Download and Install Android Oreo Beta on Nokia 5 / Nokia 6

How to Download Android Oreo Beta on Nokia 5 and Nokia 6

The process is relative simple and does not wipe your data. All you have to do is signup for Beta program via the website and then wait for the OTA update notification to arrive on your phone. Follow the simple steps below to update your Nokia 5 or 6 to Android Oreo:

  • It is recommended that you backup your device data just in case anything goes wrong. Though this process is harmless and quite fast.
  • Make sure you have a running sim card and battery up to 50% or above.

Once you have taken care of above points let’s go on with upgrade steps:

Step 1 – Register your Phone at Nokia Beta Labs website and read about the requirements.

Step 2 – Sign in using any one of your accounts on the Nokia Beta Labs websites.

Step 3 – Once signed you will be presented with some information about the Beta Testing and Update.

Steps 4 –  Make sure your phone is update with at least November or December Security Patch, if not you can do so by going to Go to Settings > About phone > System update > Check for update.

Step 5 – Now you will be required to enter your device IMEI and Operator. You can find both here:

  1. IMEI code: Find IMEI code from  Settings > About phone > Status > IMEI information > IMEI (Slot1)
  2. Network Operator: Find your Operator Name fro Settings > About phone > Status > SIM status > Network

Step 6 – After entering both press “Register for beta labs” wait for validation. Once validated you will receive “Validation ok” message. 

Step 7 – Head further below and read the license agreement. After accepting it press “Request OTA”. With 12 hours you will get Android Oreo OTA notification on your phone. If you don’t want to wait you can simply request the update manually on your phone from here: Go to Settings > About phone > System update > Check for update.


Step 8 – Install the Android Oreo Beta update arrived via OTA on your phone:


Once installed you can enjoy Android Oreo on your Nokia 6 or Nokia 5.
