Android O was announced a few days ago and now Google is rolling out Android 7.1.2 to the Google Pixel and Nexus devices.

The Nexus Player and Pixel C is getting the update OTA and it weighs around 340 MB and brings minor changes to the devices. The Nexus 6P and 5X got the Pixel’s fingerprint scanner gesture. The Pixel X now has the Pixel launcher.

A new battery usage list is also introduced in the 7.1.2 update. The new battery usage list will help you identify the misbehaving apps and kill them manually.

You can now also choose where to set live wallpapers. You can either choose home screen or lock screen or both at the same time.

A number of bug fixes and performance improvements are also included in this new update.

Compatible Devices

The update is available OTA for the Pixel C and Nexus Player for now. Other devices should get the update soon.

List of supported devices are:

  • Nexus 5X
  • Nexus6P
  • Nexus Player
  • Pixel C
  • Pixel
  • Pixel XL

The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 are not on the supported list. They’ll be stuck on Android 7.1.1.

The factory images are not yet available on Google’s official page but they’ll be available soon.
