Search for:

Step 6 – Once you are in TWRP Recovery, tap on the ‘Install’ button from the list, choose the ZIP file that you copied to your phone memory in Step 3.

Step 7 – Confirm installation on the next screen by swiping on the “Swipe to Confirm Flash” option. The installation procedure should start now as show below.

Step 8 – Once the installation is completed, you will be shown a similar screen like shown below.

Step 9 – You can now reboot your phone by selecting the “Reboot System” button.

That’s it. Your Huawei Honor 5X has now been rooted with SuperSU package. Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.

To make sure you have correctly installed the above root method and it’s working, verify with Root Checker as given in the link.

    So I was wondering if you could help me out. I had super SU working okay prior to installing custom XenonHD 7.1.2 firmware. After installing Xenon, then installed Gapps, then all my other apps, i noticed I no longer had root, so I flashed SuperSU, (then wiped cache/dalvik after, not sure if I was supposed to, but I recall doing this on previous phones). After that, it killed my cell phones service (sim was not recognized and no IMEI info etc….) After a bit of panic, I decided to factory data reset… that did not help…then I re-flashed custom XenonHD firmware, and I luckily was able to re-obtain cell signal. What did I do wrong and how can I get root without knocking out cell signal again? THanks!
