Oppo has announced its next affordable phone, the Oppo R7 Lite. As the name suggests, this phone is a lite version of Oppo R7 itself. The phone is identical to the Oppo R7 from the outside. Only the hardware inside is downgraded to make it more affordable.
The R7 Lite comes with a lower screen resolution. The screen resolution is 720p this time, compared to the 1080p display of the original R7. RAM is reduced to 2 GB, compared to 3 GB of original R7. Internal storage is 16 GB which is expandable by a Micro SD card. The RAM and display resolution are about the only changes made in R7 Lite compared to the R7.
The chipset, Snapdragon 615 with Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU is same as the R7. Similarly you get the same 13 MP back and 8 MP front camera for selfies. Both phones got the LTE connectivity.
The Oppo R7 Lite comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The orignal R7 was launched with Android 4.4 KitKat and it did not receive the Lollipop update yet.
The R7 Lite will cost you around $300 and is expected to launch very soon.
