Team Win Recovery Project has announced today their latest iteration to the popular TWRP 2.8.7.0 custom recovery. The highlight of this build includes the feature where you can choose to make a read-only system backup of your phone. What’s so fancy in that? This way you would be able to get official updates from your hardware manufacturer no matter if you are rooted or not, once you flash back to the backup.

resize2fs is another feature worth mentioning. ROMs supporting different storage variants will be automatically set to the default capacity available on actual hardware thanks to resize2fs. Pretty useful for phones like OnePlus One. All in all, this is a much appreciated release and the features here are totally something to make a milestone out of.
