HOW TO: Root Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 with XXUHOB7 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Firmware
We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide for how to root XXUHOB7 Android 5.0.1 on Galaxy S4 I9505. If you are used to installing official updates through ODIN on Samsung Galaxy devices, then this should not be any different for you.

- Your Galaxy S4 should be on an official firmware by Samsung, not a custom ROM.
- Your phone should be on XXUHOB7 Android 5.0.1 firmware.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
NOTE: You need to have a custom recovery installed on your Galaxy S4 LTE CWM Recovery before proceeding below.
Step 1 – Download SuperSU Root (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip) for Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 to your computer.
Step 2 – Connect your Galaxy S4 LTE to your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 – Now copy/paste the downloaded UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).
Step 4 – Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.
Step 5 – Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home Button + Power buttons together. Alternatively, read this: How to Enter Recovery Mode on Any Android Phone.
Step 6 – Once you are in the Recovery Mode, scroll down to “flash zip from SD card” and press the Power button to select it.
Step 7 – Press the Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.
Step 8 – Now using your volume keys, navigate to the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation should start now.
Step 9 – After the installation completes, go to main recovery menu and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now”. Your Galaxy S4 LTE will reboot now!That’s it! Your Samsung Galaxy S4 has now been rooted on Android 5.0.1 official software update. Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.
