How to Root Galaxy S5 G900H with SuperSU Package on Android 5.0 Lollipop
We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to root Galaxy S5 G900H with SuperSU. Please read every line carefully below. We suggest that you should read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your phone.
- This root method tutorial is only for Galaxy S5 SM-G900H. Please do not try on any other Galaxy S5 variants.
- Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding as a precaution.
- Your Galaxy S5 should be on an official firmware by Samsung, not a custom ROM.
- Your phone should be on Android 5.0 firmware.
If you have fulfilled all the requirements above, then proceed to the actual tutorial.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
NOTE: You need to have a custom recovery installed on your Galaxy S5 TWRP Recovery before proceeding below.
Step 1 – Download SuperSU Root (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.45.zip) for Galaxy S5 G900H to your computer.
Step 2 – Connect your Galaxy S5 to your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 – Now copy/paste the downloaded BETA-SuperSU-v2.44.zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).
Step 4 – Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.
Step 5 – Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home Button + Power buttons together. Alternatively, read this: How to Enter Recovery Mode on Any Android Phone.
Step 6 – Once you are in the Recovery Mode, scroll down to “flash zip from SD card” and press the Power button to select it.
Step 7 – Press the Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.
Step 8 – Now using your volume keys, navigate to the BETA-SuperSU-v2.44.zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation should start now.
Step 9 – After the installation completes, go to main recovery menu and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now“. Your Galaxy S5 LTE will reboot now!
That’s it. Your Galaxy S5 has now been rooted on Android 5.0 Lollipop with SuperSU package. Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.
