How to Root Nexus 9 on Android 5.0 LRX21L Software Version

- This root method tutorial is only for Nexus 9. Please don’t try this on any other variants of the tablet.
- Your tablet should be on Android 5.0 LRX21L software version.
- Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 – Download CF Root SuperSU v2.18 package designed specifically for the HTC Nexus 9.
Step 2 – Extract the downloaded ZIP into a folder.
Step 3 – Enable Developer Options on your Nexus 9 by tapping the Build Number section in the About Device menu found in Settings.
Step 4 – You will now notice a new tab pop up in the Settings menu which would be named “Developer Options“. Click it and then check “Enable OEM Unlock” along with “USB Debugging”
Step 5 – Enter Bootloader mode on your tablet. For that, you would be needed to press Shift key + Right click in the tools folder. Click on “Open a command window here..” from the menu which follows. Type:
adb reboot bootloader
Step 6 – Execute the “root-windows.bat” which you extracted in Step 2.
As soon as the Command window finishes, your device will reboot normally. Now you have a newly rooted Nexus 9!
