HTC Nexus 9 has finally been launched and is shipping out to customers as you read this. Chances are, you already have one with you if you are reading this. We know you can’t wait to put on all the music and videos on this tablet, so for that, you need to have proper USB drivers in order to connect the Nexus 9 with your computer (Windows or Mac). Google and HTC have built an amazing tablet that comes with the newer version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system – Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Nexus 9 does not support mass storage mode, but it does support the newer Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) which allows you to add or remove files from your 16GB / 32GB of tablet storage. MTP drivers are always included with the stock Android phone software. ADB drivers and Fastboot drivers will need to be downloaded from the Android SDK. We have an entire section full of Android USB Drivers, but we have that covered as well for you below on how to download and install the drivers.

NOTE: You can always check our Android USB Drivers section for latest updates.

HTC Nexus 9 USB Drivers for Windows

Like we said, the USB drivers for Nexus 9 are bundled with Android 5.0 Lollipop. For transferring media content, photos and other files from your Nexus 9, you need to have a micro USB cable (preferably the one you got in the box) for the tablet.

  • Connect your Nexus 9 with the computer using that USB cable.
  • Now wait for the computer to recognize the device.
  • Several drivers including the modem, MTP service etc. will be installed automatically.

Once finished, you will see a new media device in My Computer. You can now transfer photos, music, videos or any other files from and to your Nexus 9 USB memory.

Connecting your Nexus 9 USB memory on a Mac is also easy. If you have been a Nexus device user on a Mac previously, then this Nexus 9 should be no different for you. Make sure you have a Nexus 9 and a micro-USB data cable (preferably, the one that came with the tablet). Follow these quick steps:

  • Download Android File Transfer and install it on Mac OS X.
  • Connect your Nexus 9 with the USB cable.
  • Wait for the tablet to get connected and drivers to be installed.
  • Android File Transfer window will automatically open up with your internal phone memory directories.

That’s it! Pretty easy solutions, eh? Let us know if you run into any problems and we’ll try our best to sort it out.
