How to Install Clockwork Recovery on Galaxy Pocket S5300

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to update Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300 to Clockwork Recovery. If you are used to installing OTA firmware updates using stock recovery on Samsung Galaxy devices, then this should not be any different for you.

To Remember:

  • This tutorial is only for installing Clockwork Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300. Please do not try on any other Galaxy Pocket variants.
  • Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 – Download Clockwork Recovery ( for Galaxy Pocket to your computer.

Step 2 – Connect and mount your Galaxy Pocket USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 – Now copy/paste the downloaded file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).

Step 4 – Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 5 – Now to get in the recovery mode. Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together.

Step 6 – If you get an exclamation mark now, again hold your Volume Up and Power buttons. You should now be in your recovery mode. Ignore this step if no exclamation mark.

Step 7 – In ClockworkMod recovery, scroll down to “apply update from from SD card” and press the Power button to select it.

Step 8 – Press the Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.

Step 9 –Now using your volume keys, navigate to the file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the process should start now.

Step 10 – After the installation completes, reboot the phone. Like mentioned earlier, “reboot system now” in recovery menu is not working. Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds to reboot phone.
