Adobe Flasher Player 11.1 has been taken down from the Google Play Store. It is no longer available for download as Adobe announced they would be discontinuing Flash Player for Android. Unfortunately, all the devices that have been updated to Android 4.1Jelly Bean cannot find Adobe Flash Player 11 in the Play Store.
Nexus 7 users were the first who were not able to download Flash Player 11.1 as the tablet was on Android 4.1 – and now it has been discontinued for Galaxy Nexus as well. We still have the latest Flash Player APK for download if you want, but here is a quick tutorial on how to install Flash Player 11.1 on Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean device.
How to Install Flash Player 11.1 on Google Galaxy Nexus
Follow the steps below carefully to install the Adobe Flash Player APK on Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone. It’s pretty easy and I’m sure it shouldn’t take more than 3 minuets to do this.
Step 1 – Download Flash Player 11.1 APK file in your computer. If you downloaded directly on your phone, it will be in the folder called ‘downloads’ on SD card.
Step 2 – Download ASTRO File Manager from the Android Market on your phone. You can use any other file manager as well.
Step 3 – Now in your phone, go to Settings > Applications > check “Unknown sources” box. Tap ‘OK” on the warning.
For Android 4.0+ users: Go to Settings > Security > scroll down and check “Unknown sources” box. Tap ‘OK” on the warning.
Step 4 – Connect your phone to the PC and transfer the Adobe_Flash_Player_11.1.apk file anywhere in your SD card or phone memory.
Step 5 – Disconnect from PC and navigate through the app to your directory where the APK is transferred.
Step 6 – Tap on the Adobe_Flash_Player_11.1.apk file. A popup will show up. Now tap on the “Open App Manager” button.
Step 7 – Tap on the Install button. It will then take you to the Android installation interface where it will show you the permissions required for the app. Tap ‘Install’ again for the installation to begin.
That’s it! The Flash Player 11.1 app is now installed on your Galaxy Nexus.
You can now happily browse through Flash content. However, you will need a third-party web browser (i.e. Dolphin Browser) because Chrome does not support Flash either.
