One of them, is a cool, small feature to disable / turn off notifications for an individual apps.
There are Android apps that uses notifications based ad networks and you get an ad in your notification tray after every few hours. This is annoying. Now, you can completely turn off or disable notifications for an app from the system settings without having to fiddle around or request app devs to add that feature in their apps.
How to Disable App Notifications in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
Here is a small and quick step-by-step tutorial on how you can disable / turn off notifications for apps in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean:
1. Go to Settings.
2. Then go to Apps.
3. Now, select the app for which you want to disable notifications. Tap on it.
4. Under the “Force stop” button, you will a checked box “Show notifications”. Uncheck that.
5. Tap OK on the warning message.
That’s it. Notifications are now disabled / blocked/ turned off for the app – in our case, it was Facebook notifications that we found annoying.
