Root Sony Xperia T LT30p on Android 4.0.4 ICS Official Firmware
HOW TO: Root Xperia T LT30p on Android 4.0.4 ICS Firmware
We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to root Xperia T LT30p on Android 4.0.4 ICS firmware. If you are used to rooting or installing mods on other Sony Xperia devices, then this should not be different for you. A big thanks to the developer – Bin4ry – for releasing this great tool to root Android devices.
Please make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your device. We don’t want you to harm your device in any way.
Note From Developer (Bin4ry):
There is a special case for Xperia T and Xperia S, P etc. phones, this phones run ICS but don’t have android’s native restore with adb, Sony has added a own custom “Backup&Restore” app, the script handles this cases too, just choose the correct option!
Just To Remember:
- This root method tutorial is only for Xperia T LT30p and I am not sure if it will work on the other variants of the Xperia T on other carriers.
- Make a Nandroid (or any) backup of your previous phone set up before proceeding – for just in case anything goes wrong.
- You should be already on Android 4.0.4 ICS firmware before performing this tutorial.
Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 - Download Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v13.zip to your computer and extract the zip file anywhere in your computer.
Step 2 - Connect your Xperia T to your computer using the USB cable. Make sure USB debugging is ON as given on the first page.
Step 3 - Also make sure all USB drivers are properly installed for your phone.
Step 4 - Go to the extracted files folder (in Step 1) and run the batch file ‘RunMe.bat‘.
Step 5 - Follow all the on-screen instructions and your phone will be rooted in 5 minutes.
NOTE: Your phone might restart 2-3 times during the process. It’s alright and no need to panic.
That’s it! Your Xperia T LT30p is now rooted on Android 4.0.4 ICS firmware! Check for the Superuser app in your apps list to verify.
To make sure you have correctly installed the above root method and it’s working, verify with Root Checker as given in the link.
