HTC One S

We just wrote about how you can install a custom recovery (Touch CWM) on HTC One S. Well, after a custom recovery, if you want to root your HTC One S, continue reading below and carefully follow our guide. It is not very difficult.

A tiny notice that I’m sure you must be knowing as well. Rooting your Android phone will void your warranty, but then you would be able to enjoy your favourite root apps i.e Titanium Backup.

Check HTC One S Software Version

First, make sure you are on the required HTC Sense so there are no issues later when trying to root your HTC One S. HTC One S should be on HTC Sense 4.0. How to check that? Follow the simple steps below:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Then scroll to the bottom and tap “About phone”.

If it is not HTC Sense 4.0, then please don’t proceed with the tutorial or you might brick your phone or  lose your existing phone data.

Disclaimer: We are not to be held responsible if you damage or brick your device. We don’t have you on gun point to try out this tutorial ;-)

Make sure you have installed all your USB drivers for the HTC One S to connect it with the computer. Download HTC One S USB drivers! Now, let’s proceed with the tutorial on the next page to root your phone.
